Here's the beginning of Canto XXII
I have seen horsemen moving camp, and beating
The muster and assault, seen troops advancing,
And sometimes with uncommon haste retreating,
Seen forays in your land, and coursers prancing,
O Aretines! and I've beheld some grandish
Tilts runs and tourneys fought, with banners dancing,
And fife and drum, and signal-flares a-brandish
From towers, and cars with tintinnabulation
Of bells, and things both native and outlandish;
But so strange a trumpet's proclamation
I ne'er saw move or infantry or cavalry,
Or ship by sea-mark or by constellation.
