I've been in such a procession, out in the streets, before - not a Eucharistic procession but the procession of St Joseph's statue - when I was in Sri Lanka in 2005. I remember some people on the roads even made insulting remarks at Catholicism while we passed by. Such large processions really can be opportunities for witnessing to our Faith.
I took part in the Eucharistic procession yesterday after Corpus Christi Mass (I helped carry the canopy!). It's a pity we couldn't go out into the streets of Singapore - the procession was only within the compound of SJI International - a very short route. But at least symbolically we took Christ outside of the Tabernacle, into Singapore.

Was that Fr Erbin =)
Actually no one has tried to get a permit to walk he streets of Singapore. I don't see why not. The temple next to my workplace goes for a yearly procession in the strees of Upper Serangoon with their deity. It even visited IHM Church enroute....
Fr. Leon Pereira, O.P. he's a Singaporean Dominican posted in the UK.
Ya I was wondering too - maybe all we need to do is ask?
