The Worst Generation

I notice that (as I expected) some contributors are angered by my assertion that the baby-boom generation are the worst that ever walked the earth. They point out that other generations have been more violent, ignorant, intolerant etc etc. This may well be so, though the baby-boomers are responsible for a society in which violence is rapidly reaching the levels of the barbaric past, intolerance is officially encouraged and ignorance is epidemic. What I object to about my generation is not just that we are so greedy, incompetent, selfish, and short-sighted. It is that we are also so incredibly pleased with ourselves. It was the self-satisfaction and vanity which I sought to puncture.
