On embryos
Video via the Curt Jester
An interesting interview.
Clinton cautions that Obama should not use embryos that under any conceivable scenario can be fertilized and become little babies.
The thing is, embryos are already fertilized, and have the potential of becoming little babies.
So what's going on here?
Clinton seems not to know what an embryo is, and if that's so, doesn't know what embryonic stem cell research entails. Is it to be understood that he would oppose ESCR if he knew they that it was fertilized embryos being used?
And - the person interviewing Clinton is Dr Sanjay Gupta - now the SURGEON GENERAL under Obama's administration. Why doesn't he correct Clinton about what embryos in fact are? Does he also not know? Or would it be very embarrassing to bring attention to the fact that Clinton was criticizing the very thing the Democrats were planning to fund?
