That man in the photo is the Reverend Walter Hoye, pastor of the Berkeley Missionary Baptist Church in Berkeley, California.
Today he will be sentenced on his conviction for two "unlawful approaches" to potential clients at an abortion clinic in Oakland.
THERE IS VERY STRONG POLITICAL PRESSURE ON THE JUDGE TO MAKE AN EXAMPLE OF HOYE TO ADD "TEETH" TO OAKLAND'S UNCONSTITUTIONAL "BUBBLE LAW". This law allegedly "protects" women, but, in fact, restricts free speech and the free exercise of religion.
Before his trial the judge granted a permanent restraining order against Reverend Hoye, even thought the burden of proof that he had harmed anyone or was a danger to anyone was never met (this happens more often than you think). I have spoken with Reverend Hoye many times and he is a gentle man who would never harm a soul. He could get up to two years in jail for his mere presence in front of a clinic whose owners and management saw him as a threat to their baby-killing business.
Please pray for Walter. Please offer a small sacrifice for him today. If he goes to jail, it would be a shameful injustice.
