Catholic Awareness Week 2009

This year's CAW seemed much quieter than my previous three experiences. I didn't have any really memorable discussions with non-Catholic inquirers - except perhaps the museum curator who was interested in Catholicism's tolerance of non-Catholic local cultures and practices.

The more interesting conversations have been with Catholics - with Bro Jude, other befrienders, etc.

I think the most eventful experience I had was when the youth group visiting Singapore from Handan, China, dropped by the Science booth. I made a friend - Thomas (which is interesting because my first contact with Chinese people was Thomas, my friend in high school).
Those Chinese youth, and their two priests, are so alive in their faith! And though Thomas mentioned that it wasn't as hard to practice Catholicism is Handan as it was in Beijing, it still must call for heroism. And that they indeed have, I think.

They performed some Chinese songs for us at the booth. It was a very joyful experience. And, I must confess, it was only of the few times I enjoyed Praise and Worship music :p
