Prof Kate, and my thesis

I only just read this funny Introduction on my thesis supervisor's staff profile:

Kate Nicholls joined the Political Science Department in January 2008 and teaches modules in comparative politics and political sociology. Her hometown is Auckland, New Zealand, where she completed her BA and MA. She spent six years in the freezing cold before receiving her PhD from Notre Dame University (Indiana) in 2007. She thinks that Hokkien Mee and Chicken Rice are great but that Chilli Crab is highly overrated. In her spare time she is often found arguing with TV political coverage.

I'll be really starting on my project - which has undergone quite a few mutations lately - tomorrow. So far I've been reading up as broadly as possible, and familiarizing myself with the terrain. I think I need to start penning my first section down.

I'm excited about it - I think I'm going to love the research, and it's about my beloved Catholic Church; but I'm also feeling very very daunted by how large it is, and how independent an effort it will have to be (I don't think Prof will be checking up on me very often, so I'd really buckle down and be disciplined!)

But I trust in God: Totus tuus
