Beauty in the liturgy

"More and more clearly we can discern the frightening impoverishment which takes place when people show beauty the door and devote themselves exclusively to 'utility'. Experience has shown that the retreat to 'intelligibility for all', taken as the sole criterion, does not really make liturgies more intelligible and more open, but only poorer.
