Benedict's man!

I mentioned some Curial news regarding Archbishop Malcolm Ranjith from Sri Lanka. Fr Z has an interesting analysis on the issue.

Just one thing: it makes me proud that someone like Fr Z would number this Sri Lankan prelate as one of "Benedict's men" :) What an honour!

I also read somewhere that Thomas Cardinal Cooray was part of Coetus Internationalis Patrum (Latin for International Group of Fathers) a study-group of conservative-minded bishops during the Second Vatican Council.

Interesting...Sri Lankans and liturgical conservatism.
